This tool converts MBOX (Thunderbird, Apple Mail, etc.) to Outlook. Maintains the on-disk folder structure of the mbox mailbox after conversion. Import mbox into existing or a new Outlook Data File (.pst and .ost).

MBOX to PST conversion requires an installation of Outlook to ensure that a valid .pst file is created for your version of Outlook. Thunderbird does not need to be installed on the computer for the conversion process.

Mbox Mailbox Format

The mbox mailbox has a pair of files: (1) container-name (with no extension) contains all emails one after the other: Archive, Inbox, Sent Items... (2) container-name.msf a type of index, if deleted it will be restored.

If there are subfolders, there is also a container-name.sbd directory (map). Within this directory there are new pairs or even directories. The files without an extension are the mbox files. They exists even when there is only a .sbd directory and no emails.

How to convert MBOX to Outlook?

1. Close Thunderbird and all other mail-enabled applications that may use your mbox mailbox.
2. Download the MBOX to PST Converter, and run it on your computer.
