Software may be offered in term-based and perpetual licenses. The most commonly used option is a perpetual license, which allows end users to use the software for as long as they comply with all terms of the license agreement.
A term license allows the end user to use the software for a specified license term, as long as they comply with all the terms of the license agreement. At the end of the license term, the end user must stop using the software, extend the license term, or purchase new licenses.
Home License
With a Home License, the software can be used by private individuals who purchase a license with their own funds, and solely for their personal use. Personal licenses are not to be purchased, refunded, or financed in any way by companies. Users are prohibited from selling, distributing, or engaging in other activities with the aim of directly generating revenue from the results of the software.
The software may only be used by the licensed end-user on a single personal computer owned by or under the control of the licensee, in addition to one additional computer also owned by the licensee, such as a desktop and a laptop at home. However, at any given time, only one copy of the purchased software can be in use.
